This role would suit a recent graduate with a background in polymer engineering or working with coatings, composites etc.
It’s a relaxed and flexible working environment. A working role where you will be expected to pitch in and work in the labs, on product demo days with customers, and visit customers if required.
You will be working alongside the 2 existing chemists and assisting them with their product development work- learning from people with years of experience.
The role will start as an entry level lab assistant, however the company is looking for the successful candidate to mature over a period of years so in time you will be able to develop your own products and become the main chemist within the development labs.
The business depends on research and development of new materials, they have close relationships with companies across 60 countries and supply their products into a range of industries.
The products are based on the latest technologies and are used by some of the largest companies globally.
You will be working with partners/ customers around the world and assisting them by developing products that not only work in laboratory conditions but in real life circumstances whether that is in a gas fired power plant or on a 100,000 tonne container vessel.
·Testing of new resins and technologies and assessing their relevance and compatibility within the product range.
·Testing of existing products with regards to ISO/ ASTM standards.
·Working with the QC manager to assess all newly manufactured product batches, and raw materials for production.
·Working alongside the in-house technical team to understand the application and use of existing products and new materials.
·Managing long term development projects assigned by the company chemists and management.
Commutable from York, Teeside, Darlington, Leeds, Harrogate- you should already be based in the area.
