This Edinburgh based business is one if the UK’s leading analytical consultancies and works with some of the World’s leading brands, using a mix of data science and engineering to help them make the most of their data and take strategic decisions.
Due to expansion they are looking for a Graduate Data Engineer to join their team.
They have taken on graduates previously, who have gone on to have very successful careers with them. You will be joining a successful team, and in a supportive environment.
You will start fairly low-key, doing testing etc, but will build your skills on an ongoing basis from there.
The team combines the disciplines of software development, database design, distributed computing and systems integration with deep practical experience of everything from digital analytics tools like Google/Adobe Analytics to SQL, Hadoop, cloud computing and custom developments.
In time, you will be designing, implementing, improving and supporting new and existing data and analytics services; and working on data issues for clients, identifying the root cause and thinking what needs to be done to solve the problem – for example what networking challenges there are, or what database to build. You will be speaking with the clients to help them.
In line with recommendations, you will be based from home for now, and the aim is to get back into the office in September. But there should still be scope to work from home part of the time. when restrictions are lifted - but you would go into the office at least once a week, and take part in training workshops or team lunches so you don’t feel isolated.
While it would be ideal if you are based in Edinburgh or within commuting distance, other locations that are fairly close, such as Glasgow, Fife, Stirling etc will be considered.
Only candidates who are eligible to work in the UK without any restriction can be considered.
