Are you a Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering graduate who enjoys dealing with people, and is looking for something a bit different?

This successful business specialises in the design, manufacture, installation, and support of a range of large equipment / high-end applications that are used in a range of industry sectors.

The sales team was set up last year, and they employed two graduates in similar roles. They are both doing very well- so there is room for another. It’s an opportunity to really make a difference.

You will receive full training throughout the business, with a view to gaining a thorough understanding of the company, its culture, products and services.

You will be identifying opportunities for new business, and maintaining and developing relationships with existing customers in person and via telephone calls and emails- and sometimes representing the business at trade exhibitions, events and demonstrations.

A lot is about gaining a clear understanding of customers’ businesses and requirements, negotiation of terms, finding a solution, closing sales, and ultimately working to targets which will mean you will need resilience and determination to handle the times when things may not go so well.

You will work as part of a small team dealing with day-to-day spares and service enquiries as well as a Proposals Engineer, who will work with you to prepare quotations and tender responses for big equipment sales.

The role is predominantly based at their Rochdale office. Although longer term, the role will require travel within the UK as well as occasional international travel.

You should already have seen some success in a sales or customer service position. And you will need to show that this is something that you really want to do as a career choice. You will receive first-rate sales training, including courses that cost the business a lot of money.

You should be happy speaking with people, and also have a high-standard of written communication.

Monday to Friday, with an early finish on a Friday. There is also a company bonus scheme paid depending on business performance where you could get up to 15% of your salary. There are loads of other benefits too, including: cycle to work scheme; free fruit; discounted gym membership.

Due to the sensitive nature of some of the projects that the business is involved with, security clearance will need to be applied for. This means that you will need to have been resident in the UK for the last 5 years.

Drug and alcohol testing is also carried out so if this is going to be a problem it would be best not to apply.
