Position title
Graduate Transport Planner - Ideal for a Geography graduate

Are you a Geography graduate with a particular interest in how transport routes are planned?

This small but ambitious sustainability consultancy works is looking for a graduate to join their Traffic and Transportation team.

You will be helping to deliver technical work in support of planning applications for a range of projects and clients, including many household names.

The workload is varied and includes work on retail outlets, schools, medical sites, residential developments,  sports clubs, and more. For example looking at transport infrastructure, cycle routes, and bus routes.

You will be working directly with the head project manager, and will receive extensive training. There will also be the opportunity to work towards accreditation with a professional industry body such as The Chartered Institute of Highways and Transportation.

The workload will include transport statements and assessments, travel plans, speed survey reports. Also on occasion helping with the preparation of proposals and tenders.

The ideal degree would be Geography, as around 75% of Transport Planners fit this profile, though other degrees with an element of town planning, or civil engineering, may be considered.

You will be working to deadlines, so it can be challenging. Analytical and research skills are required, you will be working with lots of data. Experience with GIS would be a definite advantage.

Location is north-Nottingham and you will need to already be based in commuting distance.

The role will start initially as an internship, to see how things go and if there is a mutual match. If all goes well it will be made into a permanent job.

Only  candidates who are eligible to permanently work in the UK without restriction can be considered.
